Within 20 miles of the house there is an unrivaled selection of first class golf courses offering a test for all abilities (St Andrews, Elie, Crail, Balbirnie Park, Kingsbarns, Scotscraig, Lundin). Outdoor activity days are available in the East Neuk Outdoors in Cellardyke Park (canoeing, archery, abseiling and much more).

Family attractions nearby include the Seceret Bunker, the Sealife Centre and the Scottish Deer Centre. There are also many guided walks and boat trips from Anstruther and Crail.

Kellie Castle near Pittenweem and Hill of Tarvit near Cupar are among the many historic buildings and museums to visit. There are also blue flag beaches with watersports at Elie (5 minutes from the house).

The Byre Theatre in St Andrews offers a variety program of contemporary and classic drama and there is a strong tradition of arts and crafts in the area with many excellent potteries, galleries and workshops.

There are a good range of pubs, cafes and restuarants within walking distance.
